SILVER ANNIVERSARY

English Language Institute (ELI) at Texas A&M University
celebrated 25 years of service to the international community

Begun as a year round program at Texas A&M in 1974, the ELI has grown from a small program instructing 100 students annually to one that provides intensive English instruction to more than 500 students each year.

ELI offers you the opportunity to develop your language skills while you participate in university life on the campus of a world famous American university.

Dedicated to giving students the best English instruction available, the outstanding ELI faculty offers students opportunities to develop their language skills through a broad range of stimulating and interesting activities. Courses emphasize listening comprehension, speaking fluency, reading comprehension, and writing skill development. Special attention is given to pronunciation skills, vocabulary development, and grammar usage. Students also are given practice in note-taking, library research methods, and test taking including TOEFL, GRE, and GMAT.

TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY, the oldest state supported university in Texas, opened its doors to students in the fall of 1876.

The University offers a variety of programs in both undergraduate and graduate studies through its 10 academic colleges - Agriculture and Life Sciences, Architecture, Business Administration and Graduate School of Business, Education, Dwight Look College of Engineering, Geosciences and Maritime Studies, Liberal Arts, Medicine, Science and Veterinary Medicine.

In addition, the University's extensive research efforts in all fields resulted in expenditures totaling more than $350 million, more than any other university in Texas and among the top 10 universities in the United States.
